On November 11th, the Cloth Library held an opening exhibition and planned the “1-20 Cloth Plan†as the first meeting of the library to the public. In this project, the fabric library chose a piece of 100% polyester fabric as the base fabric. This material, which is unusual in the eyes of the public, has been processed by the “cloth library†R&D design team with a variety of modern technology. And has made a lot of changes.
It is understood that the "1-20", that is, the evolution of 20 kinds of fabrics, began with all the things, that is, a piece of cloth, and 12 costume designers and fabrics grew together to explore 20 different expressions. Founded in 2015, the "Textile Library" is a material design and development center, focusing on the creative design field with materials as the core. With the aim of “exploring the possibilities of materialsâ€, the center is dedicated to excavating the value of materials and reshaping and recreating materials with a contemporary and interesting approach.
The main library of the Cloth Library has a fluid “Textile Library Samples Databaseâ€, which displays more than 1,800 innovative fabrics independently developed by the library and is shared with designers and brands. In addition, we will promote a variety of creative life and ways of thinking through a variety of forms such as exhibitions, forums, workshops and products in the field of planning materials and creative fields for a wide range of creative groups and the general public.
According to reports, before the cloth library was officially established, the library team had cooperated with domestic and foreign fashion designers and brands to try to jointly develop materials. Therefore, in this fabric project, the library specially invited 12 fashion designers to use these 20 pieces of recycled materials to integrate each creator's understanding of materials and explore individualized through fashion design.
