From "wearing warm" to "wearing beauty" to "wearing smart"|Donghua University

Donghua University's fashion science team created two original "technical cheongsams" in the "great revolution - the grand celebration of the 40th anniversary of reform and opening up". From letting the people "wear warm" to "wearing beautiful" to "wearing smart", Donghua people have been running on the road for 40 years.

Traditional cheongsams are mostly made of woven fabrics such as brocade and fragrant silk yarn, although they are elegant but not flexible enough. The teachers and students of Shanghai International Fashion and Creative College of Donghua University have creatively developed the “Knitted Color Technology Cheongsam” using softer and more flexible knitted fabrics . The work borrows geometric figures abstracted from natural forms in the ART DECO style of the 1920s: symmetrical geometric shapes and radiological mashups, symbolizing the linear shape of the power of science and the mix of magnolia blossoms. The splicing mix and the composite knit texture make the color-changing yarn more layered after the ambient temperature changes.

The other subtlety of "Glowing Technology Cheongsam" is the use of environmentally-friendly and energy-saving nano-luminescent materials jointly developed by Donghua University and enterprises. The luminous lines of different working states are arranged in a clever way. If the nebula is full of stars, it will have a strong sense of three-dimensionality and perspective, full of space illusions with oriental wisdom.

Behind the brilliance of "technical cheongsam" is the support of scientific research results. Professor Wang Hongzhi, Director of the Research Department of Donghua University, led the research and development of multi-material electrochromic design system with original intellectual property rights , which can realize electrochromic in various forms and colors, and the color change is fast and uniform. The technology has been successfully applied to the "Technical Cheongsam" color changing series version 2.0, which integrates only A4 paper thickness and foldable color film into the soft and close cheongsam fabric, making it possible to change the color of the garment.

Experts said that "smart wearables" is moving from concept to reality. Some apparel companies began to introduce smart wearable technology, trying to produce smart wearable clothing, and some enterprises and industrial capital began to enter the "smart wearable" technology field, and docked and integrated with local traditional clothing companies. Wang Hongzhi believes that with the rapid development of e-commerce, the fashion industry dominated by textiles and clothing is in a period of urgent need to build a new circulation and new retail model, and intelligent clothing with high added value and high profit rate will become the trend of the times.
