Several concepts of chemical fiber spinning methods

Melt spinning: The polymer is heated to a suitable temperature above the melting point to prepare a melt. The melt is passed through a screw extruder, and the metering pump presses the spinneret hole to form a fine stream and inject into the air. Condensate and become thin.

Solution spinning: The solvent is selected to dissolve the fiber-forming polymer into a spinning solution, or the polymer material is first made into a soluble intermediate, then dissolved into a spinning solution, and then spun. This method is used for viscose, vinylon, and acrylic. Solution spinning is divided into wet spinning and dry spinning according to different solidification conditions.

Dry-spinning: The high-molecular polymer is dissolved with a volatile solvent to make a viscous liquid suitable for spinning. The spun mucilage is pressed out of the spinneret to form a filament stream, the solvent in the filament stream is quickly volatilized by the hot air sleeve to solidify, and drawn into filaments. (Polychlorin, Acrylic, Vinylon, Acetate)

Wet spinning: The fiber-forming high-molecular polymer is dissolved in a solvent to form a spinning solution, and the spinning solution is ejected from the spinneret to be discharged into the coagulation bath, and the solvent diffusion and solidification in the viscose filament stream are caused. The agent penetrates the flow of the viscous filaments, causing the flow of filaments to solidify into strands.

Wet spinning is characterized by a large number of spinneret holes, but the spinning speed is slow, suitable for spinning short fibers, and dry spinning is suitable for spinning filaments. Generally, the same type of chemical fiber is produced by dry spinning and wet spinning, and the fiber structure is uniform and the quality is good.
